“Stop the Capture, Feel the Rapture”

I said this at one of those times I thought I was a genius. Simple, to the point, and you can say it in any order, “Feel the Rapture, Stop the Capture,” it still works! Clever perhaps, but not genius.

The point is still why?  Why do we always have to capture? And if we were not involved in that action of capture, and just witnessing, being the observer-can that be enough? And of course it is not just the capture, but the “send,” the overly generous “sharing” of the captures…who’s looking at them?

Some might find it ironic that a photographer is saying this, but I am. Sometimes I just don’t take the picture.

Is an experience authentic if it is not captured?
